Axl Back to His Late Self

Perpetually late rocker Axl Rose kept a London audience waiting two hours past the scheduled start time for a show last night at the Hammersmith Apollo. Some concertgoers, afraid to miss the last trains, were forced to leave halfway through the set in order to make it home, risking not seeing Axl and company again for years.

Axl has been notorious for his late arrivals. On more then one occasion, his inability to even make it to the stage has caused riots. While with Guns N' Roses and touring with Metallica in 1992, Metallica frontman James Hetfield suffered burns from a pyrotechnic accident. Metallica had hoped Guns N' Roses would save the day. Instead, Axl canceled the band's set after only four songs due to "throat problems."

Rose also failed to show up to the first date of his doomed 2002 tour in Vancouver and a riot ensued.

With expectations high for the tour and new album, 'Chinese Democracy,' maybe Axl should spend less time on the cornrows and more time performing for his fans.
