I think it's already my 3rd time at the Balinese and it's ALWAYS been awesome there. Tracy seem to lose the notion of time there and plays just forever. This time was not different, she probably played almost 4 hours again. And very interesting song selection. She played a lot of her usual songs, but she brought an accoustic guitar to play some of them so that was special, also in the first set she surprised everybody (starting with the band!) trying a brand new song which was so cool. She spent a few seconds telling Roger and Charlie "Ok it goes like this... and then like this..." then they played it and it sounded GREAT! Tracy is such a good songwritter and the band members are really quick learners and good musicians.
During the second set she played the new song again but it was a little more difficult this time, with alcohol and all that! But i can tell you it will be a really great song and i'm glad she offered us that unfinished song this weekend. Also at some point during the second set Roger started to play something cool on his bass and they made a tune out of it, pure improvisation I think but it sounded like something they played forever all seemed so natural and it was so good! Hopefully they will do it again.
Her next show at the Balinese Room in Galveston will be Saturday May 21st, This is going to be awesome again, DON'T MISS IT!!! And it's such an nice place, this club is right above the gulf of Mexico, its a very beautiful and historic place on the beach and the beer is cheap!!
