I heard a lot of good things about the Poodie's Hilltop bar from Tracy and her fans that I decided to finally check it out this Saturday. I quickly understood that it is really a COOL bar. This weekend they were celebrating Poodie's birthday (Poodie is the guy with a funny hat on the pictures, he was the road manager of Willie Nelson). For this occasion they had a lot of performers that weekend. The 2 main band were Tracy Conover and some other country rock band which I forgot the name. Tracy played first, for maybe an hour and the crowd reaction was as great as Tracy's performance. Great set!! Then the country band played also for an hour or so, followed by a guy who played 2-3 song by himself with an accoustic guitar, then Tracy's band was back for a second set of 75-90 minutes, once again causing a general state of amazement in the crowd. Interestingly, this time Tracy played almost exclusively her original material, ignoring the usual big Hendrix/BB King/Jimmy Reed covers, so I'm really glad the audience enjoyed it as much as I did. But I'm not surprised, let's be honest, Tracy is in the same league as those guys! I don't know what the major record companies are waiting for to sign her. They must think what people want is another retarded rapper or another dumb pop blonde lip-sync artist...
