.:: Tracy Conover pictures: Antone's, Austin, Tx, June 2006 ::.

Finally an update. I couldn't have my schedule to fit tracy's schedule for almost 3 months but finally I was able to see her live this weekend at the historic Antone's in Austin.
The club booked tracy to play early from 6pm to 8pm expecting a huge crowd of bikers who were in town for the Republic of Texas bike rally but it turned out that people started swarming downtown austin just about when Tracy was done playing with is pretty unfortunate. For those who were there though it has been a very cool show. Her intro for "Thrill is gone" was particularly remarkable. She ended the 2h set with an explosive "Goin' Down". Solid performance from Charlie and Roger as well.
After that a second band came on but the night was not over for Tracy yet. She was invited to get on stage when the third and final band (Firewall) came on stage around 11pm or so. They opened with Goin' Down and then Tell Me by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Tracy electrified the place. When the got off stage the band kept playing, mostly covers, and I must say that I was very impressed by their cover of "Texas Flood". The guitarist and frontman basically reproduced the version Stevie used to play around 1982-83 as seen on the famous "El Mocambo" DVD, it was badass, over 10 minutes even with the guitar behind his back thing, this guy can really play.
