.:: Tracy Conover pictures: The Saxon Pub, Austin, TX, July 1st, 2006 ::.

This Saturday night tracy was playing for the first time in a new project called "Red Spade" featuring Austin vocalist Malford Milligan and also 2 guitar players: John Gaar and Tim Dyer.
They played for about an hour at the Saxon Pub in Austin for their first show and they did an excellent performance for a band that never played or rehearsed together! Many of the songs were unknown to me but Tracy played one of her new ones: "Oh the nights you're missing" and she also took the lead on a Jimmy Reed song. My biggest complain about the show was that Tracy was not loud enough, we could not hear her guitar at all at the beginning, by the end of the show it was much better but some other guitar was always way louder than the 2 others. But that should be fixed when they'll all play again there at the end of the month for their second gig.
The bar was very crowded and the people obviously loved that concert judging from their response. They were asking for more but the band had to leave because another band was playing after (That was Lavelle White's band featuring Nick Travis, the previous bass player for Tracy Conover) and they were late on schedule.
Before I went to the Saxon Pub I got to see Chalie Sexton (click here for photos) playing in downtown Austin, a big thank you to Chris Bynum for the backstage pass (free show, free food, free booze!).
Below are some pictures of "Red Spade" and the beautiful Tracy Conover live at the Saxon Pub:

Stevie would have been proud to see Tracy play!
